There’s something special about a Saturday morning in Manly. The air hums with the sound of waves meeting the shore, and ferries glide into the wharf carrying weekenders ready to explore. For the November edition of the Pride Business Association’s monthly Walk & Lunch, members and guests gathered by the water, coffee and pastries in hand, before setting off toward one of Sydney’s most breathtaking headlands.

Led by PBA President Jarrod Lomas, the group, including Michael Nguyen, PBA Board Associate Henry Burgoyne, Steve Tsiamis Richard Hicklin and Arthur Dann — made their way through the leafy bushland trails and dramatic cliff edges leading up to North Head Lookout. Along the way, the conversation flowed easily: stories of work and travel, creative projects, and reflections on the year so far.

The return loop took walkers down toward Shelly Beach, where sunlight danced on the water, before finishing at 4 Pines Brewery, Manly’s much-loved local. Over lunch and a drink, the group settled into that easy rhythm that comes from good company — laughter, connection, and shared pride in community.

As always, the PBA Walk & Lunch series reminds us that networking doesn’t need name tags or business cards. It’s about creating spaces where LGBTQIA+ professionals can connect as people first: to build trust, belonging, and the kind of relationships that last beyond any single event.

Join us next month: December PBA Walk & Lunch – Kirribilli Loop

We’ll close out the year on Saturday 6 December with a gentle stroll through some of Sydney’s most charming harbour views. Starting in Kirribilli, we’ll wander through Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden, along Lavender Bay’s foreshore, and back past Kirribilli & Admiralty House, Milson Park, and Anderson Park before wrapping up with lunch at The Kirribilli Hotel.

As the year draws to a close, this walk is your invitation to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate community, the way we’ve built it, and the way we’ll keep it going.

Sign up to Walk & Lunch in December.

If you’re looking for a relaxed way to meet other LGBTQIA+ professionals, keep an eye on pba.org.au/events for details on upcoming walks and gatherings.
